A Bit About Me

I have been playing with horses since I was 10 years old. having loaned and owned many horses over the last 40 years. I have an Equine Studies Ba (Hons), am an Equine Therapist qualifying with Horse Haven in 2020 and am a keen lifelong student of horsemanship in various forms. Over the last 4 years I have been particularly interested in Natural Horsemanship and groundwork techniques and how we can interact better with horses in the non-ridden aspects of our relationship with them. 

I use my Alexander Technique training to inform my equine therapy practise and incorporate body awareness and relaxation technique into the equine therapy. I also qualified and worked as a Solution Focussed Hypnotherapist and use my understanding of how the brain works to help my clients learn how to manage anxiety and stress better.  

I have worked with neurodiversity and have CPD training in Autism. 

Working with the horses is a really engaging and exciting way to learn new ideas and play with them in real time with the horse giving instant feedback on the success of how the ideas are put into practise. It's really fun, relaxing and helpful for building confidence, experiencing joy and learning how to manage yourself more effectively. 

​Come and have a go. No experience is necessary. This therapy is for you whether you have never played with a pony before or you have spent years playing with them and want to try something new.​​

Suitable for ages 10 and up. Sessions are 1-2-1 with me, Tara Bentall at Thornbush Livery Yard in Portslade. 

Cost is £45 per session for one hour.
